Safety Rules

  • Absolutely NO running while on the range it is very slippery when wet.
  • Know your target and shoot only at it.
  • Never point or aim a drawn bow at another person.
  • Never draw or shoot your bow when anyone is between you and your target.
  • Never shoot at a target or object until you are sure that it is capable of stopping your arrows and the area behind and around the target is clear.
  • Never shoot arrows straight up into the air or in any direction where you might destroy property or endanger life.
  • Never allow anyone to retrieve arrows until all arrows have been shot.
  • Never pull back and release a bowstring without an arrow attached. This is called "dry firing a bow". Each time it occurs you significantly reduce the life expectancy of the bow and may cause immediate damage to both the bow and yourself.
  • Do not attempt to draw your bow beyond its maximum draw length as damage could result.
  • Do not cross the shooting line for any reason until "All Clear" has been signaled and instructed to do so by the instructor.
  • Carry all arrows with the tips pointing down.
  • Watch for arrows bouncing out of target.
